SMIC,
the UCSD based sketch comedy troupe, is bringing their third
original production Smokey Mountain Inventor's Club to the
Lyceum for three nights only. It's a custom blend of sketches,
improvisation and music that highlights the humor of difficult
situations. The troupe formed when members of the UCSD theater
department, the Muir Quarterly (a satirical newspaper), and FOOSH
(an improv team) decided to focus their efforts on short-form
comedy. SMIC's philosophy of sharing ideas and responsibilities
means that every member participates in writing, directing and
producing. They have performed two different shows on campus, to
full houses, and want to bring their energetic comedy to the rest of
San Diego. Tickets are only $5 pre-sale and $10 at the door.
